The LAN79 organisers, together with Esports Heaven, have announced online qualifiers where teams can win free entry to the main event.
The LAN79 event, that will be held in Bressuire, France during the weekend of 14,15 and 16 May 2010, is one of the upcoming Call of Duty 4 events and also has a large Counter-Strike Source competition. Esports Heaven has now announced that teams will get the chance to apply and play in a qualifier where the top prize is free entry into the main event. In the event that a team wins that has already paid to attend the event, their entry fee will be reimbursed. This event is sponsored by VeryGames, the well known hosting and gameservice provider.
Because the admins want to make sure that only teams who wish to participate in the actual offline event will be submitted to the online qualifiers they will be on the lookout for teams that cannot travel to the offline finals (should they win a ticket) and will deny them entry.
